In October 2009, the final moment will come when fans will have to say goodbye to their beloved “scruffy boxes”, their living room with its hard benches and unhindered access to beer. “A lot of the heart and soul will die,” says Gerhard Neumeier.
Horst Schulz, Block 8, Row 8, Seat 202 season ticket for life, will not be there to experience this blow. He dies of a heart attack at 45 years of age, two weeks before.
